Metal Gear Solid 2 HD Edition Review

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is the first MGS game for the Playstation 2 and features 2 characters Snake the hardened legendary soldier and Raiden a young rookie of the newly reformed FOXHOUND unit. This game has given an HD treatment and it looks good, but it shows its age. But it's gameplay and story makes this game worth playing again on your HD gaming console.

This review is spoiler free!

Nintendo Announces the Nintendo 2DS

Nintendo recently announced the new entry-level version of the 3DS, the Nintendo 2DS. This is to make Nintendo's latest handheld device to be accessible to all. Like the name implies. This is Nintendo 3DS without the 3D top screen. The design of the device is now like a slate rather than clamshell. It's obvious that you can't use the Circle Pad Pro here.

The Last of Us Review

Well Naughty Dog did it again that's for sure! It may not be a "perfect" game but in terms of presentation, gameplay and story, I seriously doubt that there will ever be a game that would top The Last of Us.
I guess what really stood out the most for me is the "feel" or the "experience" that this game delivered. But before anything else, let me tell you a little something about the story.

Watch Dogs E3 2013 Trailer

Fans of the open world genre will definitely get excited for this upcoming game from UBISOFT.

When it comes to new and upcoming games, fresh ideas is what I look for and this game definitely got my attention. Using a smart phone to hack (digitally) your way out of a tight situation beats running around stealing cars and running over people mindlessly.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Impressions

I got the PS3 beta codes recently for FFXIV: ARR. After half-a-day of downloading, I finally got the chance to play it. And wooooow! The game's awesome! Because I need to follow the NDA rule, I will not post any screenshots (even though I have some off-screen photos) and I will just give my impression to this high profile MMO title from Square-Enix.

Xbox One Reveal (A Rant... Kinda)

I watched the reveal of Microsoft's next-generation gaming console now officially named "Xbox One" hoping that Microsoft will make me and the potential new console buyers convinced to buy this new console. But hearing that console name alone already leaves a negative impression. Why call it "One" you say? Maybe it's because this is an all-in-one console... well whatever, it should have been called "720" or "Next" which both makes more sense. And, uhh the intro of the reveal doesn't leave a gaming impression, it's more like a new cellphone reveal.

Sam's story DLC in MGR: Revengeance is available on April 9th

The DLC story of Sam in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will clear the story about Sam, his origins and his motives in the game's story. This DLC is available on April 9th

The screenshots around the net shows Sam fighting a Modified Metal Gear Ray, the same model that Raiden faught during the guard duty mission.

Beacause you will be playing as Sam, his fighting style is different so expect new movesets and skills that can be unlocked.

Another DLC side story for Revengeance and it's about the LQ-84i, also known as Bladewolf and I think his story is parallel to the main story where Bladewolf separates from Raiden to scout some areas.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Review

What would you do if you're given a cyborg body, a sword and lots of bad guys (and mechs)? The answer is simple "cut them down to shreds!". This is what Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance offers you. This game makes you cut what you will. The game's story is set 4 years in to the future after MGS4 and stars Raiden, the whinny dude from MGS2 that everybody loves or hates that suddenly became a badass cyborg ninja in MGS4.

This game is developed by Platinum Games in supervision of Kojima Production, and I'll say that Mr. Kojima made the right decision to hand this over to Platinum Games to develop it.

Hitman: Absolution Review

After almost a decade, Mr. 47 is back again to silently kill his targets in this new game Hitman: Absolution. The story started after the events of Blood Money where his contractor, Diana Burnwood, betrayed the Agency and now is in hiding. And the new top brass in the Agency hired 47 to kill his former contractor and retrieve the Agency's greatest creation that Diana took with her during her escape.

Now enough spoilers. This game is a break from all of the high-octane, adrenaline fueled, explosive action games. Because Hitman: Absolution is the opposite of that.

PS4 Announced And What We Know So Far

PS4 (codenamed: Orbis) was announced February 20 during Sony's event. Lot of gameplay demoes are shown but the actual console is a no-show, only the controller, DualShock 4, is shown to the audience.

Here's what we know so far about this new console:
- PS4 is a powerful graphics console with top spec PC hardware
- Lot's of 3rd party support... as usual
- The new controller, while looks similar to the DualShock 3 have a touch pad similar to the PSVita and (maybe) will act as a Playstation Move
- PS4's UI looks like the new version of the Playstation Store and almost look similar to the Windows 8 Modern UI
- PS3 games retail or digital is not backwards compatible to the PS4... bummer
- PS4 will only support 4k resolution for photos and videos, not for games
- Playstation Move controller is compatible, but the DualShock 3 controller isn't
- Social integration
- Facebook-ish player profile
- Play and chat at the same time
- PS4 can save/stream gameplay videos to the internet
- The console learns your gaming likes like genres and will automatically download demos in the background
- Remote Play with PS4 and Vita is functional day one

Games of 2013

The year 2012 in gaming sucked because of game release date changes and controversies, still we got some great games by the end of this year. Now that 2013 is here and it is a very promising year and these games make this year great (or not).
