Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection Packaging Review

I've got this MGS Legacy Collection a few months ago and spent almost 500 hours playing all 4 out of 8 games included in it, and I need to take a break at playing this because all I see is a lot of Snakes now. Well anyway their review is coming soon, and while you wait let's do the packaging review of MGS Legacy Collection

Now, I have to apologize for not reviewing this here earlier, because I'm so excited in playing it, but I did post a separate blog about it and the photos I will be using also came from that blog of mine.

Deluxy!
It's been 25 years since the releace of the first Metal Gear game for the MSX. And Konami wanted to celebrate the games anniversary by releasing the main series titles and some bonuses in 2 Blu-ray discs beautifully packaged in this matte box with glossy MGS lettering featuring Big Boss and Solid Snake. This is a Region 3 version by the way.

2 discs, lots of content!

What's Included In The Package:
Disc 1:
- MGS 2: Sons of Liberty HD edition
- MGS 3: Snake Eater HD edition (with Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake)
- MGS: Peace Walker HD edition
- MGS and MGS2 Digital Graphic Novels

Disc 2:
- MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots (Trophy version)

Download Vouchers:
- Metal Gear Solid (PSOne Classic)
- Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (PSOne Classic)

Other:
- Promotional Art/Poster Booklet

That's 8 games and more for a very good price! Too bad they didn't include Portable Ops and other spin-offs like Metal Gear Acid and Metal Gear Online got discontinued after the MGS4 trophy patch. Anyways, the games doesn't have a physical manuals, just leaflets. There are in-game manuals though.

Daddy Snake and sons

The art book is a marketing booster. This booklet alone is the main reason why I bought this collection other reasons are I haven't bought the first MGS HD collection. The front and back cover is matte featuring Solid, Liquid and Big Boss artwork by Yoji Shinkawa. This is a 100-page booklet that contains all (or some of) the Japanese, American and European promotional artwork, posters and product collaborations used by Konami and Kojima Productions to market and hype the games.

Now if you want to prep yourself for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, buy this collection now, it's really cheap and it will eat plenty of your gaming time evident that I've played the 4 games for almost 500 hrs. total. This is only for the Playstation 3. If you're an XBOX 360 owner, buy the first MGS HD collection.

MGS2, MGS3, MGSPW HD Edition game reviews coming soon!
