Games of 2013

The year 2012 in gaming sucked because of game release date changes and controversies, still we got some great games by the end of this year. Now that 2013 is here and it is a very promising year and these games make this year great (or not).

Some of these games are only available in PS3

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3, XBOX 360)

Raiden's new adventure, set after the events of MGS4. This game is supposed to be called MGS: Rising and it is set after MGS2 and before MGS4. The game went cold and died, but Kojima Productions together with Platinum Games revived this game back from the dead and renamed it Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Tomb Raider (PC, PS3, XBOX 360)

The reboot of the Tomb Raider series. In which Lara got stranded in an island after the shipwreck. Lara will explore this Island, unfold its mystery and lore, solve puzzles, survive and escape. This is where Lara will start to become the Tomb Raider that we know.

The Last of Us (PS3)

The creators of Uncharted, Naughty Dog made another awesome game that looks like the movie "I Am Legend". A lot of gameplay videos and stage demos hyped me (and lots of people). I will get this game day one.

God of War: Ascension (PS3)

Another installment in the God of War saga. While it looks and plays the same, this game will feature multiplayer for the first time. I hope we see some gameplay improvements and innovations

DmC (Devil May Cry) (PC, PS3, XBOX 360)

Another game reboot. This is good because the series is getting stale. The game is more stylish and "grungy" and set probably before DMC3's story. Lots of people hated Dante's new look, this is one of the reasons why they hate the game... but what matters is the gameplay and story. So we'll see.

Bioshock Infinite (PC, PS3, XBOX 360)

Third Bioshock title that is set before the events of the original Bioshock. Out from the sea, the game's new setting is on the floating city, Columbia where you meet new enemies and people. According to the stage demo at E3 2012, you as Booker DeWitt are hired to escort the girl named Elizabeth. She got powers that can literally "tear" reality. At the end of the demo, you we're attacked by the Songbird (The Big Daddy of Infinite) and took Elizabeth away. The game features familiar and new gameplay.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, XBOX 360)

The third and final chapter of the FFXIII storyline. Set thousands of years after the events of FFXIII-2 in the new world called Novus Partus. This time Lightning is the only playable character (kinda reminds me of Crisis Core). The game features somewhat random battles and new and more active combat. Open and time based world. You can accelerate or reverse time depending on Lightning's actions. It's up to Lightning on how to save the world within 13 days.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (PC, PS3)

The somewhat reboot of the negatively criticized game Final Fantasy XIV. FFXIV:AR will run on a new engine with new and cleaner UI and gameplay features. The screens and gameplay videos provides a very promising new gaming experience. It is now optimized for PS3 too.

The year is still young and we will see more new games and probably new consoles in months to come. Are you excited for these games? Comment below.
