DmC (Devil May Cry) Demo Impressions

I downloaded the free 1.3GB DmC demo from PSN last night. DmC is the reboot of the Devil May Cry series. The game features younger Dante and fast combat. This game was developed by Ninja Theory, Published by Capcom and the game is powered by Unreal Engine.

DmC demo's main menu have 3 choices:

Under Watch: This is the story mode
Secret Ingredient: Single boss fight
Options: Adjust your audio and game settings here

As usual Unreal Engine loading times is about a minute long and displays some gameplay tips and animations while waiting for the game to load. After loading you are greeted by a cutscene that you cannot skip, I think the cutscenes are pre-rendered because of its smooth framerate. In-game graphics is beautiful thanks to the Unreal Engine. The environment is "alive" but it runs at... I don't know... 30 frames per second because there are lots of moving stuff.. Combat is fast, you can button mash, but the combat can be strategic because you can use different weapons in the middle of a combo to make a stylish and more effective combo. You can hold the Triangle attack button to charge the weapons, you can also hold the Square button to charge the handguns.

The demo is the same as the DmC stage demos presented last year. And this game looks very promising.

The release date of the game is at January 15, 2013 and available for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360. Stay tuned for our review
