Battlefield 4 Open Beta Impressions

At first, I thought this was the Battlefield 3 poster
then I saw the number 4

The open beta for Battlefield 4 is now available until October 15. The beta features Multiplayer mode with one map "Siege of Shanghai", a Conquest/Domination map which plays a lot like Dust 514 where you select deploy points (near your squadmates and or near the captured area) to control specific areas on the map and drain your opponent's tickets, player kills can also deplete these tickets. It plays well, almost everything is destructible, I saw one huge building collapse due to extensive damage to its support pillars. Like Battlefield 3, the map have vehicles. It got tanks, APC's and helicopters to aid your team to victory, these vehicles also acts as transport vehicles giving that realistic feel. Players can jump off the building and deploy a parachute for safe landing.

You can customize your solider and its weapons. Soldiers have classes: Assault, Support, Engineer, Medic and Recon each with its own equipment, you can level up each class to unlock new weapons, attachments and items. Weapons can be customized. It's a little confusing at first, but I managed to get the hang of it.

Like I said the Battlefield 4 open beta will last until October 15 and everything in this beta is not final so forgive the ugly, muddy graphics. The official release date for Battlefield 4 is on October 29th for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Download the open beta now from PSN and Xbox Live
